Euro Auctions, Brisbane 19th August sale

Good stock of unused machines attracts strong crowds at June sale, and the 19th August sale is already attracting consignors
With longer delivery dates from OEMs stretching well into 2022, Euro Auctions attracted a strong contingent of committed bidders to the recent sale in Brisbane, with the highlight of the sale being large consignments of unregistered construction and earthmoving machinery.
With a reputation for presenting excellent quality machines for sale, and a depressed market for new equipment, Euro Auctions piqued the interest of bidders and buyers with several consignments of unregistered machinery, as well as consignments of good late, big-ticket machinery, at the June sale.
With a hammer total of just over $5 million, 25% up on the same sale in June 2020, and attracting 20% more bidders than the same sale 12 months ago. This proves the current market trend, with the appetite of the market for good quality used equipment is still strong, which has been evident right throughout 2020 and the Covid pandemic.
With over 500 bidders registering for the sale, 30% were first time buyers. First time registrations have been increasing sale on sale, with 35% of those first-time registered bidders buying machinery at this sale. In addition, this was clearly a ‘home sale’ with many bidders coming from Australia and New Zealand, and whilst internationally many other countries participated, it was the home crowd who were resolved to buy well and keep machinery in the country.
Craig Hart, one of Euro Auctions territory managers, comments, “We are seeing a trend at all Euro Auctions sales globally. Whilst we always attract a good global audience through our online network, and those international buyers do bid successfully at all sales, it is the home audiences that are bidding harder and stronger at their own home sales. We are seeing this trend in Brisbane, with infrastructure project requiring machinery, Australian buyers need to be aggressive to keep good kit on these shores. Auctions have always been a great place to buy and sell equipment and machinery, but now with dealership networks starved of new stock, and predicted to be short on delivery for the foreseeable future, Euro Auctions presents a solution to the need for good kit.”
At this last sale bidders from Australia, New Zealand, USA, Great Britain, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Japan, Iraq, and further 12 countries were bidding, however it was the local Oceania market that were most successful, buying approximately 98% of all lots, and with strong prices it was clear that vendors were also satisfied.”

“The Australian market has changed in the last 12 months” comments Euro Auctions, Craig Hart, “This next sale is gaining a lot of interest from consignors, however the interest from bidders has been increasing, sale on sale, with Euro Auctions now well established as a market leader not just in Australia, but across the whole of the Pacific rim. We are still seeing an increase in the use of heavy earth moving construction equipment in the agricultural sector, whilst new infrastructure projects are fuelling an increase in demand. For the sale on the 19th August we have already consigned many lots that buyers will be interested in, including unused machines, as well as notable late and low hours machinery. This is building to be a good-looking sale.”
