Hay bales can be quite fragile and cumbersome to handle. When you have a few of them to move, you need the right gear. That’s where the friendly team at Norm Engineering come in. Norm have a range of hay hale grabs and spears designed to suit skid steers, track loaders, back hoes, telehandlers and tractors. The Norm Engineering hay bale grab has hydraulic operated arms that swing in the horizontal plane, with the capacity to gently grab, lift and transport six foot diameter hay bales. A tilt option provides further flexibility and reduces the likelihood of dropping or crushing bales.
The Norm range of spears are designed for stabbing the bales with the spears to enable lifting and moving. With certified lifting forks integral to the design, they can be used to move pallets as well as hay bales, or anything else that is possible to get a fork tyne underneath for that matter. The spears can actually be removed from the frame via the removal of a single retaining bolt, leaving the tynes mounted on their slide frame for ease of adjustment. This also means the user can add or remove the spears as required for the task at hand, using one, two, three or even up to five tynes. The Norm Engineering range of hay bale spears is available in 1,200kg, 1,600kg, 2,000kg, 3,000kg and 4,000kg rated sets.
