The new Hidromek H4 Series excavators have arrived in Australia.
The H4 series brings the new, bolder looking machine, which is extremely well finished and delivers a new level of efficiency in its operation. The H4 series features:
• Impressive new design including a new cab design, bright white colour and sharp trimmings
• Faster and smoother cycles through improved hydraulic system design
• Improved productivity with larger standard bucket capacities
• Fuel efficiency with Isuzu Tier 3A engines utilising three power modes, automatic power boost and auto stop control during low idle
This month we have taken a closer look at the HMK230LC. It weighs in at a hearty 23.9 tonnes and is powered by a 172hp 4-cylinder Isuzu engine. The machine is built for longer life thanks to the heavy-duty, reinforced steel components and more durable bronze graphite bushings preventing wear in the boom-arm and boom-frame structural linkages.
The cabin is spacious and comfortable and features adjustable ergonomic air suspension seat, class leading climate-controlled air-conditioning, excellent operator visibility and work lighting, including dual wipers ensuring great visibility in all conditions, as well as excellent cabin noise and vibration dampening.
The machine also includes a few handy extras for the operator. The cabin also offers cup holders and a heating and cooling compartment – which are things you appreciate spending long days in the machine.
Like all H4 series machines, the HMK230LC features Hidromek’s OPERA 8-inch touch control panel, this allows the operator to manage all machine condition information and settings and the integrated music system. OPERA allows hydraulic system control setting and up to 20 attachments flow requirements, how they are controlled on the clubs and their flow requirements.
Hidromek’s SmartLink Telematic Data System provides access to a range of useful reports and insights on machine condition from remote locations.
The HMK230LC has all the safety features you would expect including rear camera, high-visibility work lights, beacon light and ROPS, FOPS, FOGS II guard safety protection and additional factory handrails (local carbody rails available). Another great feature is the safe fuel transfer pump that automatically stops when the tank is full.
The HMK230LC was put to the test by operators at recent machine demo days organised by Onetrak. “The feedback from our customers was extremely positive.” said Jodie Johnson, Territory Manager at Onetrak.
“One thing that stood out was how powerful the HMK230LC is, and how operators could easily track the machine up the bank out of the quarry pit, without needing to use the bucket to help pull the machine up. They also mentioned how stable the machine felt and how comfortable and quiet the cab was while operating”.
“The machine performed extremely well, with major civil operators stating the HMK230LC machines were on par with leading brands in final trimming. And customers were impressed with the machine’s maintenance layout, with easy access to most items from ground level”.
“Customers also mentioned that they like the new H4 look and design and that they were impressed with the robustness of the machine, in particular the undercarriage and belly plates. Hidromek machines are built with extra heavy-duty weldments and greater steel thickness and bracing where it counts for extreme purpose applications”, Jodie concludes.
The new H4 Series include the following models: HMK140LC, HMK145LCSR, HMK230LC, HMK310LC, HMK390LCHD, HMK410LCHD and HMK500LCHD.
